Technology Empowers Trading: the 6th SDS Futures IT Symposium Ended in Success
April 19th, 2019, Changsha City, SDS successfully launched Technology Empowers Trading: the 6th SDS Futures IT Symposium. Having ‘Technology Empowers Trading’ as its theme, the Symposium offered a great place for experts in relevant industries to share the fresh news from the technical companies under the Big Four exchanges in China and the views over a great variety of trading technology topics. On invitation, leaders of China Futures Trade Association and chief technical officers of the technical companies of big futures exchanges in China, and, nearly 100 futures IT experts from around the country, attended the symposium.
Seeing the fast advancing of the financial technologies driven by the rapid development in global financial markets in recent years, SDS launched an effective dialogue platform, the SDS Futures IT Symposium, to facilitate the cooperation and innovation in the financial trading technology industry. This year, the Symposium attracted over 120 distinguishing guests to discuss the technologies that empower financial trading and explore the opportunities of tapping into bigger markets, linking the present and the future, and bridging trust and supports. After five years of development, the Symposium has grown into one of the most exuberant exchange activities in the futures IT circle! The success of the 6th Symposium clearly demonstrated the SDS’s capability of and dedication to providing users with all-round high-quality services.
Mr. Zhu Junjie, the Vice General Manager of SDS, delivered an opening speech. In his speech, he first extended a heartfelt gratitude to the Futures Trade Association and the big four exchanges’ technical subsidiaries for their kind instruction and supports and then a warm thank to all guests in presence for coming to the Symposium year after year. He said, “Thanks to the open policies that the State Council issued for Chinese financial industry, and, the momentum that Shanghai gained in her rising as an international financial center, we, the SDS, has been able to keep on learning and growing. This year is the year of SDS’s 20th anniversary. In this year, we are going to launch more low-carbon green data centers into the market and develop a really secured asset-light service platform for our users.”

Gratefully, the Symposium received full supports from the technical companies under the Big Four exchanges. The topics they brought to the Symposium were the most valuable contributions to all attendees. In a speech, ‘In the Spring Breeze Briskly Trotting Is FEMAS’, Ms. Qian Bolei, Product Manager of CFFE Technology Company brought all attendees a ‘fast horse’ to hurdle barriers in the market, i.e. the FEMAS Open Platform, FEMAS Market Making, FEMAS Stocks and FEMAS Mobile. Together with host cabinets and quote information services, they will bring futures company excellent trading opportunities.

Then, in a speech called ‘Give O&M a Pair of Wings’, Mr. Wang Junpeng, the Product Manager of SFIT (Shanghai Futures Information Technology) caught the attention of all O&M people in presence with his introduction of the latest operating & maintenance practices. The JiDu O&M Solution that SFIT developed provides operating and maintenance people with an O&M Flywheel, a novel innovative product designed to reduce human errors in operation and maintenance process, ensure higher service stability, bring heterogeneous O&M systems in line, and improve automatic operating and maintenance. Mr. Zhang Ziyang, Product Manager of Zhengzhou Esunny, presented in front of all audiences an ingenious futures market connection solution, the Esunny Shanghai Computing Room Network Construction and Resource Planning. In a brilliant presentation, Mr. Zang Shucheng, Product Manager of Dalian Futures Information Technology (DFITC), showed the DFITC’s latest creation for the coming season, a Financial Information Platform – DFITC Financial News Express APP. Along with rapid progress of trading technologies, investment scenarios have become easier to reach and more human-centered to investors. An era of ‘All opportunities in hand’ is close in reach. As a one-stop platform integrating financial news and trading information, the DFITC APP provides users with a handy tool to really have all opportunities in hand. In addition to the original futures and options quotes, the APP shows the quote information of over a dozen major foreign exchanges, including NYMEX, COMEX, CBOT, CME, LME, HKEx, SGX, and APEX. What’s more praiseworthy is that the APP can deliver a really ‘smooth, fast and stable’ user experience, making it a highly user-adhesive, easy-to-use trading tool!

The 2019 Symposium was held on the Juzi Island in the Xiang River, China, a land promised with broad development prospects for financial industry. The ever-advancing trading technologies will for sure empower front office operations of the financial industry. That’s why the subtitle with strong cultural implication, i.e. ‘Under Freezing Sky Creatures Contend in Freedom – Cloud-Internet Integration Leads to Success’, was chosen for the Symposium.
In the second section of the Symposium, of the three key topics under the ‘Cloud Internet’ theme, Mr. Jia Shihao, Pre-sales Service Manager of SDS, introduced what SDS data centers had done in this field and the latest changes in the financial Cloud network in his speech ‘2019 SDS Futures Service Platform’. Mr. Yang Xian, Cloud service expert of SDS, gave a speech called ‘Enable Digital Transformation of Futures Industry: SDS Private Cloud Host Service’ to demonstrate the SDS solutions on Financial Cloud Service in real scenarios. In order to tap into the opportunities in global futures markets, we also invited Mr. Matthew Lempriere, Asia President of BSO Network, Hong Kong SAR, to share his views about Cloud network. In a speech called ‘Global Financial Interconnection’, he delivered a presentation on the high security, high performance, low delay network and the underlying infrastructure that BSO and SDS offer in cooperation. The convincing presentation showed clearly where the strategic opportunities lie for the trading market.

The pace of the Symposium was fast, the air in the meeting room, hot. During the Symposium, pleasantly surprising news came, saying that the CFFE is going to make some new adjustments to its stock index futures trading arrangement. This was a big favorable change to all futures IT people and greatly enhanced their confidence in future.
