To encourage and motivate the new CYL leaderships, Mr. Xuan Luyue, the Secretary of Communist Youth League and Labor Union of Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, Mr. Ge Peijian, the General Manager of Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, made important speeches.
In his speech, Mr. Xuan placed special emphasis on three key points, i.e. foresight, innovation and youth. First, he encouraged the young leaders to cherish the extensive resources now available to them in the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park and work toward the goal of making Zhangjiang Science City a great community boasting of advanced residential, commercial, cultural and sports, medical care, education and all other auxiliary facilities. Then, in conclusion, he boiled down the expectations and requirements that the CYL Committee at higher level had for each and every youth in one sentence, i.e. Be worthy of the times, be worthy of the expectations, and be worthy of the youth.
Mr. Ge Peijian first of all gave warm congratulations to the new leadership for the successful election. Then, while expressing his expectations of the new leadership, he made four points, i.e. the frontline ready to guide youth’s thoughts, the close friend ready to help youth, the base ready to support youth in their development, and the stage ready to activate youth cultures. In the end, he urged all members not to give up easily or abandon easily, and to brave all challenges and forge ahead through all difficulties.
Deeply motivated by the Park leaders, the youngsters on site responded the talks with the loudest applause they could make. The year of 2016 is the first year the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park threw itself to the state’s 13th Five-Year Plan and also an extraordinary year in its 20 years history of scientific and technological innovation. Like every youth that’s working in the Park, we felt honored to witness this historical moment. We should live up to our obligations and responsibilities and make the same extraordinary contribution even at the humblest posts.
